JUST WRITE – BURY WRITING GROUP

The poster for our next live event is shown below.  We have open mic slots available so if you want to get involved – or even if you just want to come along and experience so great poetry – click on the poster below and sign up on our Facebook event.

We meet  Tuesdays at The Old White Lion on Bury, Lancashire, at 7:30pm. We also hold monthly live spoken word events in the same venue. There are always open mic spots available and we love to showcase some of the best talent in the area.

Our big focus is going to be on local poetry by local writers. We will be giving prompts, themes and poetical forms to inspire writing about the area. At the group, we will be work-shopping pieces that you bring along in order to help sharpen and evolve the work. Our aim is to build a great collection of poetry by local writers. Come along and be part of it! All we ask for all this is a £1 donation towards building a fund for the group. It helps to bring along a few copies so other members of the group can see the work and make notes for you to take away. We have some ground rules for feedback, which will be given at the start of each group.
